SPŠ Svidník (Slovakia): Final project videos/outputs screening
To let the public know what we have been working on for two years of the project lifetime and to present the final five international films, we invited the pupils of 7th, 8th and 9th grade of all primary schools in Svidnik to Svidnik's House of Culture on 25th June, 2019. They had the opportunity to see the programme created in FMK University, Trnava during the student exchange in Slovakia in May this year, and the photo exhibition: "Behind the stages". Big applause at the end of screening confirmed the success of our project.

SPŠ Svidník (Slovakia): Presenting the project at the eTwinning national award ceremony
The team of 3 students, the coordinator of project Darina Kocurová and the headteacher of SPŠ Svidník were invited to attend the eTwinning national award ceremony in Bratislava on 24th June 2019. The project "Filmmaking journey: From scratch to screen" was awarded as the best project in Slovakia in 2019 in the special category "Erasmus+ project realized through eTwinning space". Darina Kocurová presented the project's main goals and outputs in front of participants and eTwinning ambassadors.

IES Fidiana (Spain): The short film "Animal World"
Students working in the project have created a short video that describes a day in the life of an IES Fidiana student. The film was awarded with the public's prize at the film festival FOCO 2019. It was also selected as semifinalist in the category C2 (13-17 years old) for the film festival Chanisnus de cine.

IES Fidiana (Spain): "Innicia" project
IES Fidiana is participating in this program organized by Board of Education of the Junta de Andalucia which intends to actively promote the creation of educational mini-companies and other didactic proposals to generate entrepreneurship values in schools. 11th Lyceum (Greece): Workshop on montage technique
A workshop took place in our school during the end of March - beginning of April 2019. Being well aware of the power the montage technique has we thought it would be a good idea to give the chance to students of the A class to know about the art of joining pieces of shots or photographs and have new creations. It was a three-day training organized by "Karpos", a centre for education and intercultural communication, which develops local and European projects encouraging expression and the exchange of views and creative ideas through the use of media. Tfhe workshop, led by George Pitsakis an awarded Film director and editor was easily integrated into our school curriculum since it took place during the "Project" hours in the A Lyceum class.

On the 12th April, 2019 a team of 3 teachers of SPŠ Svidník attended the workshop on animation led by the experienced teacher and illustrator Ľubica Ftorekova from the Art school in Poprad. The participants of different ages created 5 groups and worked on their own animations. The workshop was held in Roztoky near Svidnik and it was organized by Podduklianske osvetove stredisko Svidnik.

(April 2019) This was a didactic unit structured in 10 sessions taught during school hours. The contents revolved around the functioning and contents of the media, the production and dissemination of informative-communication from a critical attitude, the approach to audiovisual and radial language and social networks. SPŠ Svidník (Slovakia): STOP-MOTION VIDEO WORKSHOP
On 5th March, 2019 a group of 15 students took part in the workshop led by illustrator and filmmaker Lenka Šturmankinová from the studio SPUŠŤ, Košice. The first part of the workshop dealt with the theory and history of stop-motion videos and in the second part the students were divided into 4 groups and worked on their own ideas of stop-motion video with the assistance of the lecturer Lenka and three teachers of SPŠ Svidnik. The final outputs of this workshop will be submitted into the projects competition.

During this week there were different activities carried out at school to commemorate this date. One of the was the projection of a short documentary about women in science somehow connected to our school. This video was created by the students working in the project.

ES Casquilhos (Portugal):
As our next challenge is the creation of stop motion videos, on 18th January 2019, Portuguese students attended a six-hour workshop on Stop Motion at our school library. It was led by two experts from Festival Monstra in partnership with Associação Meridional da Cultura.
During the workshop, students had the opportunity to get to know the whole process of this animated-film making technique, that is to say, from the creation of dolls, in this case cardboard dolls, and scenarios to the capture and animation of photographs using appropriate software.
Hopefully students are now better prepared to create their Stop Motion videos for our next competition.

The school is participating in this program which is divided into four lines of intervention one of which is Audio Visual literacy. This line of intervention is designed to improve students’ oral and written comprehension, expression and interaction with audiovisual and digital texts, in media communication and social networks. In collaboration with this program, our Erasmus+ students were creating this video from October 2018 to January 2019.
The school is participating in this program which is divided into four lines of intervention one of which is Audio Visual literacy. Two students of graphic design (Bianka Vandová and Natália Frandoferová) created the short digital animation video about the road safety and won 1st place in the national competition "Young filmmaker 2019". More info here.

The Greek partners participated in the “Silence hate” workshop. It was a two-day training (24-25 November 2018) for 40 educators organized by "Karpos", a centre for education and intercultural communication, which develops local and European projects encouraging expression and the exchange of views and creative ideas through the use of media.
The “Silence Hate” project with a focus on stereotypes aims at combating and preventing online hate speech by developing new and creative counter-narratives. A European media camp, training courses, workshops and media productions involves journalists, activists, teachers and young people.

Students attending the 12th grade, who do not belong to the core group of this project and did not have the chance to attend the workshop on video making, were asked to created short videos on human rights as two of the topics of their syllabus are “Citizenship and Multiculturalism” and “Democracy in the Global Era”.

ES Casquilhos (Portugal): CONVERSATIONS WITH... PEDRO SENNA NUNES
On 12th April 2018, at our school library, all the students involved in this project got the chance to meet and have a chat with Pedro Senna Nunes, a renowned Portuguese film director. His work and his life as a film director, as well as the difficulties to succeed in this area in Portugal, were some of the topics dealt with. This activity was implemented in articulation with our school project titled “Conversations with”, whose coordinator is the Philosophy teacher Emília Santos.

23rd March 2018 - The group of students from SPŠ Svidník, Slovakia took part in the final presentation of the short films submitted to CINEAMA 2018 - the competition for amateur filmmakers from the Prešov region.

In order to provide our students with the knowledge they needed to start making their short videos “from scratch to screen”, we’ve decided to carry out a workshop on video making at national level. The 3-day workshop was led by the Maria Inês Gonçalves. First students, 33 altogether, attended two theoretical sessions, which took place on 16th and 31st January 2018 and during which they wrote the scripts for two short videos, one called “Everything is not what it seems” and “Illusory love”. Then they were divided into two teams. One of the teams shot the video “Everything is not what it seems” on Saturday, 10th February, from 8 am to 6 pm, and the other team the video “Illusory love” on the following day. Both videos were shot in our school.

In December 2017, two teachers (M. Sopková and V. Kucer) from SPŠ Svidník spent 2 days learning how to edit films digitally using Adobe Premier Pro. The workshop was led by the film specialists working at Trnava University, Faculty of Mass Media Communication.

ES Casquilhos (Portugal): PRESENTATION'S ON ONE'S FAVOURITE FILM/SERIES
In December 2017, 10th and 12th graders, individually, in pairs or in groups of 3, delivered an oral presentation on their favourite film or series, following the guidelines provided by their English teacher. 10th graders also had to create a Kahoot game to check whether or not their peers had paid attention to their presentation. As there is a close relationship between photography and cinema (still and moving images), on 14th November 2017, at our school library, twenty-nine of the students involved in this project attended the lecture “Photography and Nature Conservation” led by Nuno Cabrita, the winner of the photo competition launched by our town hall in 2016. This activity was carried out within the Month of Photography sponsored by our Barreiro Town Hall.
